Reckon you are brave enough to survive 24 hours hiking, making a fire to cook and building your shelter?

If so Join us on 10th and 11th June in Glendalough, and raise vital funds to help support One in Four’s work.

We meet on Saturday and the group will be briefed on the challenge ahead: survive for the next 24 hours in the wilderness with no tents! The first part of their challenge is a series of workshops where you will learn essential skills you’ll need to get through the challenge:

  • Shelter Building
  • Navigation
  • Fire Starting
  • Wilderness First Aid/Rescue Skills
  • Leave No Trace / Environmental Issues

Once all workshops are completed the group starts their trek to reach high camp, a remote and wild site in the mountains. When you reach here your first priority will be to build shelters and start a fire.

Ration packs are issued to all participants and they prep a tasty camp dinner before sitting around the campfire for stories. Participants bed down for the night in their shelters.

The next morning we break camp after breakfast. We leave nothing behind and return the campsite to the way we found it before descending back down to our start point and our journey home.

All specialist equipment and food is included in our 24-Hour Survival Challenge.

Participants must be over 18 and no experience is required. This event is run in conjunction with a professional abseil company who will provide full training on the day.
