General Psychotherapy

The One in Four psychotherapy programme provides specialised individual and group therapy to men and women who have been sexually abused in childhood and to their families. We understand that sexual abuse does not happen in isolation. The child, their family, their community and the wider society are all impacted, and any effective intervention must take account of this.

The programme structure includes;

  • One to one therapy sessions
  • Group therapy sessions
  • Sessions to support family members and significant others (that are supporting a survivor of sexual abuse)

Our professional psychotherapists help survivors work through a range of issues that emerge after incidences of Childhood Sexual Abuse has occurred. Such as;

  • PTSD
  • Cognitive Distortions
  • Dissociation
  • Emotional issues, anxiety, depression, fear...
  • Damaged/impaired self-view
  • Intimacy and relationship problems
  • Avoidance
