On the 5th of April, we were notified by one of our IT service providers that they had been subject to a cyber security incident.  They notified all their affected customers, including One in Four, that data had been accessed by a third party. The matter is being investigated by law enforcement agencies, including the Gardai.

We immediately notified the Data Protection Commission and the National Cyber Security Centre. We also have been contacting as many service users as possible to let them know that their personal information had been accessed.

On May 5th we were contacted by our IT service provider. Their external cyber security investigation had been completed. Based on the information available from our provider's investigation there is no evidence that any data was copied or taken.

We are very sorry for the worry and distress that has been caused to our service users but given the information we had at the time, we believed it was necessary to warn as many people as possible that their personal information had been compromised.
